They tried to break us.
They almost did.
But we're not going anywhere.
The Celestial Heirs think the stars are on their side. But they don't know what's coming. Fighting them one on one isn't an option so we have to be stealthy. Remaining under the radar won't be easy, but if we pull it off, they'll never suspect our involvement when their lives start falling apart.
Besides, they've already taken us to the brink of hell, what more can they really do?

The scent of a burning body still lingered in the air, catching in the back of my throat and making my scowl deepen.

The girls got a little better this book. Still a few moments of me mentally screaming "What are you doing?" but they're learning how to fight back. I am confused about what they share with each other and what they don't. Like, did Tory tell Darcy about Max's secret, because it certainly seems that Darcy hasn't told Tory what she was up to at the party. The book also has weird time jumps similar to the first that can be jarring.
Also, how do they know other people's star signs? Does everybody just advertise it? Maybe I would also understand what each star sign means if I were more into horoscopes. But the authors should be able to introduce enough of the concept to readers that they don't feel they are lost when talking about it.
However, I still can't stop reading because I'm invested in this story. Does that mean it should probably be more than 2 stars? Yes. But there was also enough second hand embarrassment for me to justify the star dock.
