Songbird (Sinclair #1)
It took many years but finally Melodee Lee is in control of her life. The twenty-three year old trusts no one, and spends her time nomadically wandering with the underground cage fighting scene. Her innocent looks are an asset and she utilizes them to their fullest extent. Fighting is how she makes her money and she’s damn good at it. Yeah, sometimes she’s lonely, but her set-up guarantees no one screws with her and she doesn’t have to think about the ten ways she knows how to kill a man. Of course, that was before she met the Sinclairs.
Nathan Sinclair; one of the four brothers that dominate the city of Syracuse. Nathan’s a rising basketball star, set to be signed by the NBA and despite the fact his slam-dunk nickname was earned both on and off the court, he’s decided that it’s time for a break. He’s over the drama of college women.
An accident, a baby and unforgettable circumstances bring these two people together when their worlds should never have collided. And the end result have both of them questioning their lives and the choices they've made to be happy.
Note from author - This is a full length, standalone HEA romance. It is recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

Songbird is an awesome story. From the description, I imagined a completely different scenario than what actually happened. And that's pretty cool. I liked being surprised.
Melodee has been on her own her whole life. She's strong, independent, and fierce. I love that! She's also fiercely protective of those she loves. Anybody who threatens her loved ones is better off dead because they're in for a whooping.
Nathan is a basketball star. He's on his way to the pros. The only thing he wants for is a girl who isn't with him just for sex, money, and/or fame. He's also stubborn, something Dee needs. Nathan makes her happy, but he's stubborn enough to keep her around even when she insists on leaving so she isn't a burden.
There were a couple of things I wanted more of. I wanted more background. I would have loved a few more stories from both Nathan and Dee. There's something else I want to see worked out (I won't say because it's a surprise), but maybe it'll be seen more in the next Sinclair books. I can't wait to read the other brother's stories! They're all so awesome , yet so different.
