Author Bio:
I was born in Southeast Iowa, in a tiny town without much to do. I came to love reading honestly, with a Mom that had an entire room devoted to books. We read together until I could read alone, and then we often shared books. We talked stories and favorite characters, even shared tears over the best ones. I made friends who also loved books and we grew up with the likes of V.C. Andrews, L.J. Smith and Anne Rice.
I live in central Iowa now, and went into marketing because I could use my love of words and head for branding. I married a guy who hates fiction and loves video games, but we compromise with great movies (often my book adaptations) and live music. We have two crazy cats that constantly walk across my key board or curl into my lap for naps while I write.
I love chocolate peanut butter and mint chocolate chip ice cream and Sauvignon Blanc wine, though not at the same time. I always have music of some sort on and someday I'll convince my husband to move to the ocean. Someday.

I seem to have knack for choosing series starters that have no info about the sequel on Goodreads. Let me tell you, it drives me crazy. But I'll get over it, because if it drives me crazy, that means that I loved the first book.
Bound by Duty is about one girl's struggle between duty and self. She's been raised to follow a certain path her whole life, and she's just now trying to break free of that. But breaking free may have dire consequences for her, her family, her friends, and her people.
Amelia feels suffocated. Nobody in her life tells her the whole truth. And along her journey, she must lie to those closest to her to keep them safe. She is torn apart by the decisions she has t make. Ones that no one should ever have to make, let alone an eighteen year old girl whose falling in love. Stormy beautifully writes about her struggle against her duty, her family, her power, and herself. She knows the right thing to do, but her heart won't let her do it.
The supporting characters were also well written. Cole is Amelia's over protective older brother. He traveled the country to try and find information about her power. Bethany is her tough, head-strong southern belle best friend. That girl is tough as nails and awesome. Aiden is sexy and sweet and willing to fight for Amelia, even when she tries to push him away for his own good. Micah has a secret, but Amelia still trusts him to help her understand her powers. Together, they weave a wonderful story as they fight against a deranged queen.
I can't wait for the sequel. Especially after that ending!!! I hope to hear more news about the sequel soon.
