See Through Me (Lose My Senses #1)
There's only one person Katie Flynn wants to see when she returns home. But she knows he won't be waiting for her. It's the reason she feels safe enough to finally come back. She's wrong.
Ash Townsend isn't the same quiet boy from next door. He's tall, dark and demanding answers. He wants her, but he doesn't trust her. Who can blame him? When his own family tried to break him down, he still sheltered her in a town full of liars. And she repaid it by leaving him behind without a word.
Because she'll do anything to protect him. She has the scars on her wrist to prove it.
Contains strong language, explicit sexual situations, and mature themes. This novel is not intended for readers under the age of 18. First in a 2-part series.
Author Bio:
When I’m not plotting elaborate schemes in my head, I’m having a fabulous time with my own real life story. That’s what happens when you have three awesome kids, two fluffy (useless) cats, and one very patient husband.
I can cook like a fiend but prefer to eat doughnuts with sprinkles for breakfast. Sprinkles make everything taste better. An avid reader of all genres, I shamelessly admit romance will always be my favorite. And while I enjoy the safe and familiar, I’m always up for an adventure.
My debut New Adult Contemporary Romance novel SEE THROUGH ME will be released in May.

First line:
I don't know why I expected the town of Havenwood to look any different, but it pissed me off that nothing had changed.---------

See Through Me is about Katie, a girl who left her small town to protect Ash, the boy she's been in love with or forever. She left him heart broken and bitter. Katie returns to her town to prevent her house being foreclosed on for her father. Katie and Ash see each other and BANG! Instant attraction, tension, and passion.
Katie and Ash's relationship was pretty volatile at the beginning before they came to a truce. Katie would try to run, like always, and Ash would grab her to stop her. I also don't understand why Ash would want to be with her if he doesn't trust her.
After the two came to a truce, the story was good. Ash is protective. He gets into a couple of fights with guys that harass Katie. Katie finally divulges why she left. Of course, both blae themselves for everything that happened. The ending was unexpected, though. I can't wait to read Only Your Touch, which is mostly in Ash's POV!

Great review, Gabi! This sounds right up my alley and I love how character driven it sounds! :)
