Shaken Not Stirred (Mixology #1)
Finding the perfect guy is like mixing the perfect drink. It's all about the taste and presentation.Maddy's gone off the deep end, at least that's what her family thinks when she handles her med school rejections by moving to the Outer Banks. It doesn't help that she's paying her bills by bartending and is sharing walls with two guys, even if one of them is her childhood best friend.
Her choice of men seems more balanced on the surface—Colin is driven, sexy, and gainfully employed, but she can't help spending her Thursday nights searching for the perfect drink for Lyle, whose music captivates her with its haunting lyrics. Maddy believes everyone has a perfect drink—and finding Lyle's isn't a challenge she's willing to lose.

Shaken not Stirred is a cute romance novel. Maddy's self-esteem is kinda screwy. And she's lusting after the musician Lyle, who has these amazing lyrics to his songs. Colin is the guy whose been hitting on her all summer and she finally decides to go out with him. And she finds out that she really likes him. A lot. So they keep dating. And eventually she meets his sister, Carly, who I absolutely adore as crazy and messed up as she is. And Maddy's best friend Macon is super awesome and their other roommate Brody is pretty cool too. Lyle's part isn't as big in the book as the description made it seem. And I was okay with that.
I love Maddy and Colin's relationship. Even though Colin would screw up, they would talk it through and get through it. Same thing if Maddy screwed up. And the ending was super adorable!!! I am seriously in love with that ending. Honestly, I should have seen it coming, but even if I had, it would still be awesome. And Maddy's humor is just plain epic. She had me laughing out loud all the time.
The only things I wish would have been done better would be that I would love to see her repair her relationship with her parents. The other thing is that Maddy was kinda obsessed with finding everybody's perfect drink, which is cool, but I wish she would explained what each drink reveals about somebody's personality. But that's not really a big deal.
I can't wait to read Macon and Cally's story. It's going to be awesome!!!
