“There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.

But sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life.

That is the sort of bravery I must have now.”

I didn't read this solely based on recommendation, but there weren't really any books I read this year that we're recommended to me. I had read Under the Never Sky when it first came out but never got around to reading the sequel. My sister kept bugging me and I finally read it a month or two ago and I don't know why I waited.

This is another one of those where my sister bugged me about reading it, though I was the one who introduced her to the series. I just hadn't read it yet.
