Soul Oath Blog Tour: Review

Soul Oath (Everlast #2)
Sequel of Destiny Gift (Everlast #1) – contains spoilers:

It’s been three months since Nadine last heard from Victor, Micah or Ceris, allowing her to concentrate on her own life. But until Victor and Micah find the scepters that will restore them as true gods, their human bodies will require her healing touch and it’s only a matter of time until they wreak havoc on her life again.

As if to prove that, Victor shows up at the hospital dragging along with him a swarm of demons. Nadine is forced to flee to safety. Despite her attempts to keep her loved ones protected, the demons find her, and they bring her to Imha, the goddess of Chaos.

Now, confronted by her greatest fear, Nadine finds a new motivation. Vengeance. And when seeking revenge, no risk is too great, including her own life.

Author Bio:
While Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. Thousands of miles away from her former home in Brazil, she now resides in Connecticut and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.

Haygert's detail in the creation of her world is amazing. I am totally in love with this bleak, dark world. New York City is desolate, the world is dying. Demon attacks are becoming more frequent. Nadine is just trying to help her family survive and to forget about the two gods who abandoned her.

Nadine was a little more like able in this book. I commend her for her courage and love of her family. There's nothing she wouldn't do for them. And I love that about her. She also learns to fight in this book, but Micah is always coming to her aid, as she has frequent damsel in distress moments. The other thing is that she's still pining over Victor when he pretty much completely ignores her. Girl, you can do so much better than him. Like , Micah. Nadine kept convincing herself that it wasn't possible for Micah to have feelings for her and that her feelings were just products of the Soul Oath. It was obvious that Micah cared a lot. Pull your head out of your butt, Nadine!! Micah is unbelievably awesome is Soul Oath. He's a bad ass and sweetheart. I can't wait to read his POV in Cup of Life!!!

If you love vivid dystopian worlds, the Everlast series is for you. Destiny's Gift definately needs to be read first though.

  1. Great review, Gabi! I love how rich and vivid this world sounds and it seems very character oriented too with a lot of growth which I find important in series. Glad you liked it! :)
