Kings of Charleston Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway

The Kings of Charleston (The Kings of Charleston #1) by Kat H Clayton
Casper Whitley is forced to move to Charleston, South Carolina where she’ll be the new kid her senior year of high school. Casper’s upset about the move until she meets the Roman family’s gorgeous son, Cal, but there’s a problem. A mystery surrounds him which can be summed up in one word…Kythera. Never heard of it? Neither has Casper until she finds the word tattooed on cars, paintings and all her new friends.

After Casper’s life is threatened, someone is forced to tell the truth about her parents, the Romans and Kythera’s motives for her being in Charleston. Once the truth is revealed, she must decide whether to protect her family and Kythera’s secrets or walk away from everything she has ever known.

It took me a while to get into The Kings of Charleston, but once I did, I was addicted. Casper is not your typical heiress. She could do without the clothes and the parties and the expensive cars as long as she still has her horses. The Kentucky farm and the horses are all that really matter. So when her father decides to move the family to Charleston, South Carolina, Casper doesn't know what to do. She's leaving everything she's ever known behind in Lexington, Kentucky.

When Casper meets Cal, sparks fly. I enjoyed them as a couple. The romance didn't feel forced or fast. Casper's incessant Twilight references did get on my nerve (those of you who read my review of Twilight on Monday know why).

Mystery, intrigue, and tension can be found in plentiful amounts in this book. From the moment I saw the name, I wanted to know what Kythera was. I was right there with Casper as she investigated every clue she could find. I loved it!

  2. Thank you for taking the time to read and review my book! I'm thrilled you loved it! I went back and read your review of Twilight, which was a good review. I would have to say Casper would try to pretend she didn't like it either and Cal would think you were awesome :)
