This is a fun fast paced novel. Despite it being a dark romance, I liked that Josh is a little ridiculous and definitely a golden retriever. Aly is a workaholic but also a little crazy. I loved how much Josh took care of Aly and went out of his way to make sure she was safe and provided for.
Allen does a great job of capturing the feelings of being a trauma nurse and that was nice to read. However, some of the nurse portrayals rubbed me the wrong way. Particularly, the casual mention of mass casualty incidents and Aly stating that she has been involved in multiple. This isn't realistic and just felt like too flippant of a comment. While it's not unheard of to have worked multiple MCIs, it is very rare to a nurse to have worked even one.
I loved the bonus scene. And the last few lines definitely set us up for Caught Up which has me excited!
