This is a novella filled with pure smutt and takes place before the events of The Assassins :)
Lock hasn’t spent a winter solstice in the All Plane in years. He can’t even remember the last time he looked forward to the celebration. But now that Cari is his mate and the All Plane queen, he wants to make it as special as possible.
However, the All Plane and the Shattered Isle have vastly different traditions, and Cari is being incredibly stubborn when it comes to telling him what she wants. He never reads her mind without permission, and this is one topic she’s keeping locked up tight.
With the help of his brothers, they’re determined to do whatever it takes to give their mate some semblance of peace during such a tumultuous time. And with a little luck, a lot of lust, and a bit of help from a new friend, they might just pull it off.
Her Mates is a steamy why-choose marvel-inspired fantasy novella filled with spicy scenes suitable for readers 18+.

First line:
"I must say, darling . . ." I press my lips against Cari's luscious skin, kissing my way up her ankle.

I feel like Jade does a good job of differentiating the personalities of the princes, which is nice. However, I felt like this novella was just a checklist of making sure we had spice scenes with each prince plus a group spice scene or two. I felt like the spice in this novella wasn't for the plot but purely for spice sake. There is some plot in the fact that Cari misses holiday celebrations in her home country and the princes trying to bring that to her new country for her. And it also provides some set up for the next full length novel.
I think this is a nice addition to the series, but not necessary to read (but I also haven't read The Assassins so I can't say if it's necessary for reading that book). Otherwise, this first part of the series ends nicely with the previous book.
