My Reading Pile (25)

My Reading Pile is a meme hosted by Rachel over at Fiktshun. Every I'll list all the books I've read and reviewed in the past week and four books I plan on reading over the upcoming week. I'll also list the blog tours from the past week and books I've received. I hope you enjoy. (The picture above is from Fiktshun)

Last Week:
Read:
Teaching Roman (Good Girls Don't #2) by Gennifer Albin

Jessica Stone has her life in perfect order until her perfectly boring boyfriend Brett puts things in perspective. So when she receives a call to action from her heartbroken best friend Cassie, she ditches her plans for Winter Break in gloomy Olympic Falls and sets off to Mexico for some fun in the sun.

Determined to use her oceanview to prep for her MCATS, she doesn't plan to run into anyone from Olympic State, least of all the cute communications prof she's been crushing on for a year. When he unexpectedly saves the day, the two are thrown together in a distinctly extracurricular activity.

Roman Markson doesn’t expect to run into anyone he knows from Olympic Falls while visiting his family in Puerto Vallarta, especially not a former student. Although Jess Stone has a way of catching men’s attention, a relationship with her is strictly off-limits. However, the rules feel less strict in Mexico, so they agree to a plan: one week in paradise and nothing more.

But avoiding each other back on campus is harder than they anticipated, especially when they can’t stay away from one another. Neither is sure what they have to learn—and lose—before life teaches them a lesson they’ll never forget.

I loved how the writing style fit Jessica's personality perfectly. To hear more of my thoughts, the review is linked below.

Unwrapping Liam (Good Girls Don't #1.5) by Gennifer Albin

Jillian Nichols and Liam McAvoy finally got their happily ever after, but Christmas with Jillian's parents strains their new relationship.
Will they ever get a minute alone?

Will Tara ever accept her daughter isn't broken?

And what will happen when Jillian finally unwraps Liam's Christmas present?

The holidays have never been so steamy.

------------------------
I need more about Liam and Jill. I need to know how they figure stuff out. Right now.

The Hazards of Sex on the Beach (Hazards #3) by Alyssa Rose Ivy

One broken heart, one drink too many, one steamy night in the sand...

No one warns you about the dangers of drinking with a broken heart. At least no one warned me. I never imagined I'd fall for a musician, especially not one like Chase, but then again I never expected to have my heart broken into a million pieces by the frat guy I thought was the love of my life.

Sometimes it's the rash decisions, like hooking up in the sand, that lead you to the best places—the kinds of places where it's possible to let yourself fall in love again.

-------------------------
I love Alyssa's Hazards series and I'm really hoping for more books.

His Reverie by Monica Murphy

I knew from the moment I first saw her she was the one. The only girl I could ever want.

The only girl I could ever love.

She is light.

I am darkness.

She is innocent.

I’ve done too much.

She is good.

I am bad.

She is my every dream.

I should be her every nightmare.

We come from different worlds. She’s…perfect. And I’m…

Not.

Somehow she wants me anyway. So we’ll grasp at what we can. We’re going to make this summer count. She’s my secret. And I’m hers.

The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart. All I know is: I won’t let them.

Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine

I can't wait for the sequel next month!!!!

Thrive (Addicted #2.5) by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Two years will change them forever.

When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?

Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.

And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.

A full-length New Adult Romance that bridges the gap between the second and third books. Thrive must be read before Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin-off series.

------------------------------------
I adore Krista and Becca's writing. I can't get enough of this series and I'm anxious to get my hands on their new upcoming series, too.

Upcoming Week:
Beta Read by a friend of mine
Yes, I still need to read it even though it's short. But I want to get it read before school starts and she's already sent me the beginning of the second book, so I definitely need to get on that.
Command Me by Geneva Lee

When he kissed me, I was shocked. He was a stranger and still so familiar. It wasn't until I woke up to my picture splashed on the cover of tabloids that I realized I knew who he was.

Prince Alexander of Cambridge.

Royal bad boy.

Exiled heir to the throne.

He isn't Prince Charming. He's controlling. He's demanding. He's dangerous. And I can't say no to him.

We both have secrets—secrets that could tear us apart or drive us closer together—and as the paparazzi exposes each one, I have to decide just how far I'm willing to go for King and Country.

I have the blog tour this week and it needs to get read.

Ali (East Wood Prep #2) by Mercy Amare

My name is Alison Smith, but you can call me Ali.

I’m okay with my normal, boring life. I have good friends, and I know exactly what I want in life. But my whole world is turned upside down when my mom gets married and moves us to the Upper East Side. I just have to survive my senior year, then I can go back to Florida… back to my life.

And that is the plan.

Until I meet Christian Becker.

He changes everything.

Mercy's books are usually a quick read and I also love them. Plus this releases today and I received a review copy from Mercy and want to get my review up as soon as possible.

Forever Sheltered (Forever #3) by Deanna Roy

Tina would rather sew up her girl parts with dental floss than go on a second date with a man. She's been dumped enough to know not to get attached.

But when Dr. Darion Marks comes into her art therapy room to ask a favor for a special patient, Tina recognizes the haunted look he buries beneath his stoic professionalism. So rather than be forced to ditch the handsome doctor after a single night, she decides not to date him at all.

So how exactly DO they end up half-naked in Surgical Suite B?

Dr. Darion has a lot to hide. His baby sister is the only family he has left, and he’s not leaving her treatment to some incompetent hack.

But now he’s breaking every hospital rule imaginable. He lied about his sister so he can manage her care, and now he’s banging the art therapy teacher between patient rounds like a fraternity boy at a keg party.

Nobody believes this can end well, not Tina’s friend Corabelle, who is overcoming a tragic history much like Tina’s, or even pink-haired Jenny, who thinks sex with strangers is good for your metabolism.

But Dr. Darion and Tina have one thing going for them – a fierce passion for each other that just might obliterate all their doubts, and solve all their problems.

Forever Sheltered includes many favorite characters from Forever Innocent and Forever Loved, as well as the much-anticipated wedding of Gavin and Corabelle.

It is a standalone HEA that does not require reading any other parts of the Forever series.

----------------------------------
Forever Sheltered released last Wednesday and I have a review copy that I need to read and review. I'm excited because I loved Corabelle and Gavin's story but I always wanted Tina to have her own story, too.
