The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo #1) by Rick Riordan
How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2) by Sarah J. Maas
Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court--but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms--and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future--and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Only those young enough can survive the pulse-pounding rush of tetra, a dangerous and addictive new drug that fuels a nine-minute burst of superhuman strength and speed. Alana West has been trained to use the drug so she can pursue the young criminals who abuse its power—criminals like the breakneck who nearly killed her kid brother.

On tetra, Alana is unstoppable. The rush makes her an explosive blur as she surges through New York City, battling to bring down breaknecks before they leave more people dead or injured in their wake. But with the clock ticking down to her eighteenth birthday, Alana will soon be too old for the rush...when just one more dose will prove deadly.

Supported only by her strong and steady handler, Tucker, Alana goes undercover, infiltrating an elite gang of breaknecks to stop the supply of their drug. But when Alana gets trapped on the wrong side of the law, she learns the breaknecks are not quite what they seem—especially Ethan, the artistic boy whose bottomless brown eyes seem to see the truth inside her. With her own dependency on tetra increasing, Alana must decide where her loyalties lie before the rush ends. Forever.

The Outliers (The Outliers #1) by Kimberly McCreight
From the New York Times bestselling author of Reconstructing Amelia comes a fast-paced teen series where one girl learns that in a world of intrigue, betrayal, and deeply buried secrets, it is vital to trust your instincts.

It all starts with a text: Please, Wylie, I need your help. Wylie hasn’t heard from Cassie in over a week, not since their last fightBut that doesn’t matter. Cassie’s in trouble, so Wylie decides to do what she has done so many times before: save her best friend from herself.

This time it’s different, though. Instead of telling Wylie where she is, Cassie sends cryptic clues. And instead of having Wylie come by herself, Jasper shows up saying Cassie sent him to help. Trusting the guy who sent Cassie off the rails doesn’t feel right, but Wylie has no choice but to ignore her gut instinct and go with him.

But figuring out where Cassie is goes from difficult to dangerous, fast. As Wylie and Jasper head farther and farther north into the dense woods of Maine, Wylie struggles to control her growing sense that something is really wrong. What isn’t Cassie telling them? And could finding her be only the beginning?

In this breakneck tale, New York Times bestselling author Kimberly McCreight brilliantly chronicles a fateful journey that begins with a single decision—and ends up changing everything.

Spinning Out (Blackhawk Boys #1) by Lexi Ryan
Once, the only thing that mattered to me was football—training, playing, and earning my place on the best team at every level. I had it all, and I threw it away with a semester of drugs, alcohol, and pissing off anyone who tried to stop me. Now I’m suspended from the team, on house arrest, and forced to spend a semester at home to get my shit together. The cherry on my fuckup sundae? Sleeping in the room next to mine is my best friend’s girl, Mia Mendez—the only woman I’ve ever loved and a reminder of everything I regret.

I’m not sure if having Mia so close will be heaven or hell. She’s off-limits—and not just because she’s working for my dad. Her heart belongs to someone else. But since the accident that killed her brother and changed everything, she walks around like a zombie, shutting out her friends and ignoring her dreams. We’re both broken, numb, and stuck in limbo.

Until I break my own rules and touch her.
Until she saves me from my nightmares by climbing into my bed.
Until the only thing I want more than having Mia for myself is to protect her from the truth.

I can’t rewrite the past, but I refuse to leave her heart in the hands of fate. For this girl, I’d climb into the sky and rearrange the stars.

Stay on the roads. Don’t enter the woods. Never go out at night.

Those are the rules in Rowan’s Glen, a remote farming community in the Missouri Ozarks where Ivy Templeton’s family has lived for centuries. It’s an old-fashioned way of life, full of superstition and traditions, and sixteen-year-old Ivy loves it. The other kids at school may think the Glen kids are weird, but Ivy doesn’t care—she has her cousin Heather as her best friend. The two girls share everything with each other—or so Ivy thinks. When Heather goes missing after a May Day celebration, Ivy discovers that both her best friend and her beloved hometown are as full of secrets as the woods that surround them.

Oh, Lexi. Once again, you have created a masterful college town filled with people readers cannot help falling in love with. Whether they be the main characters or the supporting characters, we find that everybody has two sides, that no one person is wholly good or bad.

The feel to this book is very similar to Lexi's Here and Now series. She has again decided to play with memories and accidents. She also writes the story flipping back and forth between "Before" and "After" the accident. And I must say, Lexi is an excellent craftsman. She doesn't reveal all of her cards until the absolute last minute, keeping readers on the edge of their seat. Even if one were to guess what really happened, the anticipation is still there in awaiting to see how this outcome will change characters' relations. I have fallen in love with this new series and cannot wait to see more of these boys.

Lexi does an amazing job of not only developing Mia and Arrow, as well as their friends and family. Mia has always been the responsible one, but has lost her spark for life since the accident. Arrow is determined to destroy his life to punish himself. Chris is the practical friend who sees everything. Keegan is that annoying friend that is constantly making dirty jokes and has no manners, but you still love him anyways (come on, you know that one friend I'm talking about. We all have one). Bailey is the carefree friend that does what she wants not caring about the opinions of others.

I cannot wait to see these characters again and delve more into their personalities. I'm especially interested to know Sebastian's relationship to Coach because there seems to be something more than a athlete/coach relationship there, but perhaps not. I also think it would be super interesting to see more of Uriah, especially from the time his wife was dying. There seem to be so many factors at play with that man and I want to see inside his head.

So basically, Lexi is the queen of New Adult fiction, and everybody needs to read her books. Do it. Now. I don't care which book it is because they're all amazing. But I definitely recommend this book be near the top!

Excerpt:
I let out a large sigh and pull open my bedroom door. I follow the sound of Lyndsey’s giggles and smell of freshly brewed coffee lingering from the kitchen. My heart swells at the familiar rasp of his voice. I stop dead in my tracks, wondering if I am still dreaming and pinch my skin.
Ouch! Definitely not a dream.
What is Cash doing here?
My legs feel as wobbly as a newborn giraffe, but somehow they carry me out of the bedroom, through the living room and right to the kitchen. Cash is standing next to Lyndsey flipping through a newspaper and sipping on coffee.
He is wearing the sexiest pair of jeans with a thick black belt extenuating his toned and inviting waistline. My gaze shifts upward to take in his tight white t-shirt covering every single ounce of brawny steel on his torso and arms. When my eyes finally find his face, I try to look beyond the handsome features that take my breath away every time I see him, but I can’t.
He is breathtaking.
“Hey,” he murmurs, bringing his eyes in line with mine. “Rough night last night, huh?”
“What are you doing here?” I exhale, taking a cautious step backward.
“Sealing the deal.” He winks, taking a sip of his coffee. “Our flight leaves in three hours.”
“Excuse me?” I round the kitchen island and pour myself a cup of coffee. I lean against the counter and meet his eyes over the rim of my mug. “And where on earth do you think you’re taking me?”
“Top secret.” He slides past Lyndsey and presses up against me as his hand finds the small of my back. Licks of desire flicker low in my belly, travelling and burning between my thighs from his touch. “Pack your bags, Mittens I’m colleting my debt and we’re getting the hell out of here.”
I shake my head. “It’s Friday morning. Technically, the weekend doesn’t start until the business day is done.”
“Did you forget that I’m suspended for three games? My weekend starts now.” His sexy drawl has my stomach doing this weird flip floppy thing. It takes me a few seconds to respond.
“And my weekend starts eight hours from now. I was planning on going into work today.”
“You worked over twenty two hours yesterday. I heard Theo tell you last night that you could take today off. A deal is a deal, Mittens.”
“You’re going to love where he is taking you,” Lyndsey pipes up over his shoulder.
“You told her about all of this?”
He shrugs. “She’s your sister.”
“No one can find out about this—us.” I glance over at Lyndsey sitting on the kitchen counter with an impish grin on her face.
“Don’t worry, Quinn, mums the word.” She hops off the counter. “I’ll take care of Dad and Theo. As far as I know, you and Olivia took off to Las Vegas for the weekend. Consider yourself officially free of their control. Don’t worry. I’ve got you back.”
“Thanks, Lynds.”
“You’re welcome.” She rubs my shoulder and walks out of the kitchen and into her bedroom.
A smile touches my lips. All my worries leave my head as I drink in Cash. Bright blue eyes and a scruffy jaw with a pair of lips I am dying to lick.
And he’s all mine for the weekend.
I place my cup of coffee down on the kitchen counter. “I’ll grab my things.”
I don’t know what he has done to me, but being with Cash brings out the rebellious and free-spirited side of me that has been missing from my life for way too long.
A slow lazy grin spread across his face. “I’ll be waiting outside. Our ride to the airport will be here any minute.”

Scandal Series by Alison Foster (*Spoilers*)

An unlikely assignment throws recent graduate Ella Wade directly into the frenzy of a deadly scandal and the burn-your-fingers-hot male model at its heart, Jaxson Cole.

*This collection includes all three books in the romantic suspense series SCANDAL and it is the complete story of Ella Wade and Jaxson Cole.*

Ella Wade knew working at a website called The Daily Scandal might lead to an interesting summer job after graduating college. She did not know that one big mistake would pull her into the heart of a sleazy world of publicity where truths are worse than lies and a murderer is on the loose.

When Ella gives into temptation and sleeps with her stepsister Madison's ex, her world flips upside down. It doesn't matter that Madison is dead or that Jaxson Cole wasn't, in fact, her boyfriend but a publicist's stunt to link two of the hottest catwalk models romantically in order to feed tabloid curiosity. The damage is done and with deadly consequences.

Even worse, Jax definitely knows things he won't say. Falling for his epic hotness could mean one good screw will screw Ella for a lifetime.

SPOILERS

So, I wanted to like this book a lot. But I just couldn't. Jax kind of creeps me out. He has basically stalking the girl he was in love with at ten years old. And he doesn't tell her they used to know each other. And we're supposed to think it's romantic because he was protecting her from his family and her father. No. He was stalking her. If her life is in danger, tell her. Don't dilly around and pretend you need to protect her from the truth. Because she needed to know.

Okay, rant over. I love Ella. She is spunky and determined to figure out what happened to her ex-step-sister. I loved that she would not back down and held her ground on most things. I also liked that she had a great relationship with her mom and that relationship was very visible throughout the novel.

I am super glad that I had all three books in one, because I think I might have gone crazy or never finished the series if they weren't all there. So, I would definitely recommend buying the trilogy rather than separately, even if you just want to see if you're interested by reading the first book. Having the whole trilogy increased my likelihood of finishing the whole series.

Scandal is for you if you like long lost loves, semi-stalker boyfriends, and spunky heroines.

Brooklyn Rockstar (Kendalls #1) by Jennifer Ann

Sexy bad boy Charlie Walker had everything he could ever want as a rockstar: a platinum album, a cushioned bank account, and an endless supply of groupies desperate to have him. Small-town girl Evelyn Kendall has just arrived in Brooklyn Heights. With a new job and her best friend as a roommate, she's ready for an epic adventure free from her family’s constant supervision. She's not prepared for the muscle-bound, tattooed star who appears out of nowhere and rocks her world.

Determined to keep Evelyn in his life, he’s ready to change his ways, even if they run blood deep. But will their instant attraction be enough to weather the storm brought on by the perils of fame, Charlie’s secrets, and Evelyn’s overly protective brothers?

Warning: This book is filled with sexy bad boys and strong leading ladies. If you’re looking for an engaging read with panty-melting love scenes, then you’ve come to the right place.

4 missing brothers out of 5
---------
At first glance, this is your typical virgin meets rock star sex god. However, Charlie's career is not on the up and coming. It's failing, and failing fast. His band has fallen apart since his drummer went missing. His solo career is not going well. Then he meets Eve, and everything feels right again. So yeah, basically your typical virgin and rock god fall in love, but there's a twist. But you have to read it to find out what!

I liked the book overall, but the time jumps were confusing. The climax felt dragged out, because it was fairly easy to guess what happened (to an extent). But, the end was definitely unique! Eve is so sweet and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the future books in this series centering around her brothers.

It is kind of unbelievable that Charlie would be having threesomes and various other sexual exploits and then one day see this girl and think "Hey, I want to have a committed monogamous relationship with this girl." But, how mad would we be if after he met Eve he was still sleeping around while getting to her know her? Super mad. Everybody would be wielding their feminist pitchforks telling Eve she doesn't need any man, especially one that's had sex with basically everybody.

Anyways, back on track, you should read Brooklyn Rockstar if you love rockstars, sad, lost heroes, and heroines with overprotective brothers!

Excerpt:
Stephen walked along the cracked sidewalk, lost in thought, kicking at the loose chips as he wandered slowly towards Will’s housing unit.
“Stephen, hey,” he heard Rick shout from across the street. “Come here.”
“Hey, Rick.” Stephen looked over. Rick was seated on an old bike, one foot propped on a pedal, the butt of his BB gun planted on the seat, the muzzle pointed toward the sky.
“Come here.” It was a command.
“Can’t.” Stephen shook his head. “I gotta get over to Will’s.” Rick leveled the muzzle and sighted down the barrel toward Stephen.
“Hey, don’t.” Stephen raised his hands as if under arrest as Rick popped off a couple of rounds. “Don’t.” He winced as the shots smacked his shirt and bounced off. Ha, he’d short pumped the rifle. Stephen smiled uneasily. What was all this about?
“Get over here.” Rick bared his teeth in a cold smile and began to pump the charging handle on his rifle again. He pumped and pumped, overcharging it to get more velocity in the BB’s.
Crap, they were going to sting. “You jerk.” Stephen backed away.
“Jerk? I’m a jerk?”
Stephen bolted as Rick leveled the BB gun in his direction. He heard the pop, pop of the gun and quickly changed direction. He can’t run me down on the grass. He veered right and raced between the housing units. “Oh, crap.” As he emerged from between the houses, he caught a glimpse of Rick rounding the corner, his head down and butt in the air, pumping the pedals as hard as he could.
“I’m coming, Stevey,” Rick shouted as Stephen charged ahead, crossing the street as Rick buzzed past his heels and slammed on the brakes, wrenched the bike around in a tight, sliding arc and raised the rifle to fire a couple rounds that ricocheted off the side of the house.
